Our Flanders' Field of Poppies in 2008

Since 2008, a special Flanders' Field of Poppies has been created from hundreds of cardboard poppies planted beside the Menin Gate in Ypres, to commemorate the end of the First World War.

In 2011 Armistice Day fell at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month of the 11th year. To mark the once in lifetime date, The Royal British Legion planted cardboard poppies in an 11-11-11-11 formation at Lydiard Park, Royal Wootton Bassett. Below is an aerial image of 60,000 poppies with messages of support. For more information visit www.11-11-11-11.org.uk.
