Field of Remembrance
Each year, The Royal British Legion
establishes a Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey, London and
Cathays Park, Cardiff. In 2010, there will be an additional Field
at Wootton Bassett.
The Fields become a sea of Remembrance Crosses with scarlet
poppies - a touching symbol of Remembrance and tribute to the
memory of ex-Service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice
to protect their country.
Mark the memory of loved ones, friends or comrades by dedicating
your own Remembrance Cross, Star or Crescent to a life remembered.
We will plant it on your behalf in our Field of Remembrance in
November.
The Fields of Remembrance for 2010 are not yet open - online
ordering will be available in September. If you would
like to arrange for a Remembrance Cross to be sent to you please
call 0845 845 1945.
In 2009, 60,000 crosses were planted at Westminster and for the
first time, a special plot was included for the Iraq and
Afghanistan casualties. Read the press release here.
A photo gallery of Remembrance is available on
the main Legion website.
