Field of Remembrance

Wootton-Bassett-Field-of-Remembrance-2011.jpgEach November The Royal British Legion creates Fields of Remembrance to pay tribute to all those who have bravely served in our Armed Forces and who are sadly no longer with us.

The Fields become a sea of Remembrance Crosses with scarlet poppies - a touching symbol of Remembrance and tribute to the memory of ex-Service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their country.

To mark the memory of loved ones, friends or comrades dedicate your own Remembrance Cross, Star or Crescent to a life remembered. We will plant it on your behalf in our Fields of Remembrance in November.

Please click on the button below and complete the Dedication form and we will plant your Remembrance Cross in our Field of Remembrance in 2012.

60,000 Poppies With Messages Of Support At Royal Wootton BassettAt Lydiard Park, close to Royal Wootton Bassett, over 60,000 poppies were planted in 2011 to form a special 11-11-11-11; our tribute to a once-in-a-lifetime Remembrance Day.

The walled garden was once again home to the Field of Remembrance in which 35,000 crosses were planted.

There were also Fields of Remembrance at Westminster, Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh, each testament to the respect and gratitude felt by so many.
