Silence in the Square

In 2009, our "Silence in the Square" was held in two locations - Trafalgar Square in London and Castle Square in Swansea.

The Two Minute Silence has been observed on Armistice Day since the end of the First World War; but with troops on active duty in Afghanistan and other trouble spots around the world today, the Two Minute Silence remains as relevant today as ever.

At each location there were musical performances and recitations. At the conclusion of the events, members of the public were invited to place poppy petals in the fountains.

Photos of these and previous events are available on the main Legion website.
