In 2008 The X Factor's hit Hero went platinum and donated £400,000 to the Poppy Appeal. In 2009, Radiohead created a tribute to Harry Patch, and there were many more performers providing ways to support the Legion through music.

Each year in the lead up to Remembrance, you can show your support of the Poppy Appeal by adding a message to the bottom of each email you send. This offer is made available in October each year.
Give a virtual poppy on Facebook
Raise awareness of the Poppy Appeal by giving poppies to your Facebook friends. You can add the application to your own Facebook profile by visiting apps.facebook.com/poppies or add a sticker to your profile image at apps.facebook.com/fribbon
Poppy brooches
Bridal designer Yarwood-White has produced a new poppy brooch this year and the red satin ruche Poppy has been worn by Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole on The X Factor.
This pretty satin ribbon poppy has a dark velvet centre piece and pressed glass bead centre, and it would look equally at home on men’s evening wear or a lady's gown.
